What is Lagree?

Lagree is not Pilates, and the Megaformer is not a reformer. Founded on five components of physical fitness – endurance, cardiovascular fitness, body composition, flexibility, and strength – Lagree is a patented high-intensity, low-impact exercise method that tightens, tones, and deeply activates slow-twitch muscle fibres. The method integrates body-building principles and focuses on slow, controlled movements and progressive load to build strength.

The Megaformer and the Reformer may look similar, but they deliver very different workouts. The Megaformer is specifically designed for the Lagree Method, focusing on slow, controlled movements with constant tension to build strength, endurance, and stability. It allows for more advanced exercises and continuous muscle engagement.

In contrast, the Reformer is used in traditional Pilates and emphasizes controlled movement, flexibility, and rehabilitation, often at a lower intensity.

Lagree is a high-intensity, low-impact workout that combines strength, endurance, cardio, balance, and flexibility all in one session.

Unlike Reformer Pilates, which focuses on controlled movements and core strength for balance and stability, Lagree combines this with the principles of bodybuilding. Using slower tempos and constant muscle tension to push muscles to fatigue, Lagree builds both muscular strength and endurance, resulting in a high-intensity, full-body workout.

The Lagree method delivers a challenging, high-intensity workout thanks to the constant time under tension, slow movement, minimal rest, and full-body engagement. All of these factors combined create the perfect full-body workout without any fast, high-impact movement like running or jumping.

Yes, Lagree can improve both flexibility and mobility. The exercises involve a full range of motion and controlled stretching under tension, which helps lengthen muscles while strengthening them. Over time, this leads to better joint mobility, improved posture, and increased flexibility.

Wear comfortable activewear that allows you to move freely. Grip socks are mandatory for safety and hygiene on the Megaformer.

Bring a water bottle if needed.

We'll need to discuss policy on this. BST don't allow anyone over 3months pregnant to take class without a doctor's note and will only allow them at that if they have been attending frequently before becoming pregnant.
